The Mask of Joana Vasconcelos at Praça do Comércio

In Praça do Comércio, right next to your Mesa na Praça, you can already be dazzled by the magnitude of the sculpture l’Il Be Your Mirror #1, 2018, by the artist Joana Vasconcelos. This work of art has been given to the Municipality of Braga until December 2025, in order to promote cultural and tourist interaction in an area of the city that aims to become “a new centrality”.

The insertion of this work of art by the Portuguese artist in Praça do Comércio corresponds to the central objective of ensuring new dynamics for the revitalization of the Braga Municipal Market itself, promoting greater connection with the community and guaranteeing more cultural, gastronomic and tourist experiences.

The sculpture l’Il Be Your Mirror #1, 2018 will be available for public viewing, with free access, from May 9, 2024. Throughout the period that the piece is on view in Praça do Comércio, various activities will be organized that will allow you to get to know Joana Vasconcelos’ creative process.
